Little Switzerland Rock Camp
Join Eli Helmuth for a week long trip to the amazing Little Switzerland region of the Alaskan Range in June of 2009 for some of the best alpine rock climbing in North America.  This expedition is limited to three climbers and space is still available. Little Switzerland

This expedition is designed for the experienced climber who would like to put their skills to the test on the imposing granite buttresses and ridges of the peaks in the Alaska Range, nearby the immense Kahiltna Glacier with close-up views of the high peaks including Foraker, Hunter and Denali.  Our small team will make numerous ascents of classic rock routes in the 5.7-5.10 range that involve glacial approaches, bergshrund cruxes, and some of the best mountain scenery in the world.

 

Alaska Range climbing or skiing can be scheduled privately on any available dates during the April - July season.  Other route and peak options include Ham and Eggs on the Mooses Tooth, the Southwest Ridge of Peak 11,300', and the West Face Couloir on Mt. Huntington.

 

Price Includes:

1.  Services of Eli Helmuth, AMGA certified alpine guide with fifteen years of Alaskan guiding experience.

2. Transfers to/from airport in Anchorage, and one night lodging.

3. Shuttle to Talkeetna and flight onto  Pika Glacier and back ($600 value).

4.  All park entrance
fees and permits

5. All dinners and breakfasts in camp.

6. Group-camping and cooking equipment.

All ClimbingLife Guides expeditions are led by Eli Helmuth; an AMGA/IFMGA licensed mountain guide and exam certified Rock Guide since 1991.  Eli has led dozens of guided trips to the Alaska Range including climbs of Denali via the complete West Rib (3x), West Buttress (3x) and on the many peaks that line the flanks of the Ruth Glacier, including the Moose's Tooth.

Eli is one of the first exam certified rock guides in the United States and he mentored primarily under Charlie Fowler and Mark Houston  during his  AMGA training days in Yosemite Valley and in the North Cascades.  Eli has served as an instructor and examiner for the AMGA in rock and alpine  guiding since 1998.

During his 25 year climbing career, Eli has established numerous first ascents and made repeats of many cutting-edge traditionally protected rock and alpine routes throughout the United States and around the world.
