Man dies in fall at Longs Peak

By Erica Meltzer,  Boulder Camera Staff Writer

The body of an unidentified man was found Friday by an off-duty employee in Rocky Mountain National Park, officials said.

The man was found about 10:15 a.m. below the False Keyhole on Longs Peak. It appeared that he had died of injuries from a “significant” fall on the north side of Longs Peak.

Rangers were notified Thursday night that Richard Bramley, 55, of Littleton, had not returned from a planned hike on Longs Peak. Rangers began to search for him Friday, and he has not been found yet, park officials said.

A park spokeswoman said officials do not know if the body is that of Bramley.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will identify the man and determine the cause of death.
