Colorado has one of the most dangerous snowpacks in the United States due to its cold and dry climate, low snow depths, and wind affected layers.
All of our avalanche education courses are taught in the high country of Rocky Mountain National Park which is the ideal training ground for mountain enthusiasts of all abilities and backgrounds.
We focus on learning practical methods and tools to assist in making the most objective-based decisions in what are life and death decisions regularly for backcountry snowmobilers, skiers, boarders, mountaineers and ice climbers.

All of our instructional staff are trained by AIARE and apprentice with Eli Helmuth, an AMGA certified Ski Mountaineering &Alpine Guide, AIARE Level 3 certified, and Level 1 & 2 Course Director. Eli has been an AMGA Guide Trainer since 1999 and all of our staff are highly skilled alpine-touring and split-boarder professionals.
In these small classes we are able to explore in-depth the snowpack, weather, and terrain factors which directly relate to the likelihood of an avalanche occurring. Through hands-on experiences and travel through the alpine backcountry, we can explore a variety of avalanche terrain and maximize our experiential learning in a personalized setting.
