The snow covered north and west faces (L-R) of Longs Peak on May 31st, 2009.
The snow is still falling above 12,000' on Longs Peak and Mt. Meeker with new accumulations visible on the afternoon of June 1st. Temperatures are expected to reach below freezing in Estes Park tonight (6/1) and the entire Continental Divide should have a fresh coat of white by tomorrow morning. Trail Ridge road will likely be closed if not already and ice will be forming at the higher elevations. Summer could reach the high peaks by July 1st- stay tuned!
