This is the sunset view from basecamp of the Trolls and the Pika Glacier in the Alaska Range where we'll be heading next week!

Although we won't be going for the summit of any of the Trolls on our upcoming  Ski Mountaineering Trip to the Little Switzerland area, the couloirs in the center of this southwest-facing aspect offer some great skiing and we'll likely do at least one lap on them during our week in this amazing granite cirque.  Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I will be returning to this same basecamp in June to enjoy a week of Alpine Rock Climbing and on that trip, an ascent  is likely of the Middle Troll up the center of the granite buttress at a III 5.8 rating for this almost 1500' tall route.  Spaces are still available on what will be a very small group trip to what has been called the 'Bugaboos of Alaska' although having been to both places regularly, I would rate this climbing in the Alaska Range to be much more spectacular.
